Vision

1. to focus a global vision on the promising future of Asia;
2. to promote an awareness of justice; and
3. to facilitate the recognition of the social responsibilities on law students.

Purpose

1. to understand and appreciate the diversity and share the ideals of law in society through exchange and communication among Asian law students;
2. to motivate law students to develop a creative spirit through a network of joint-activities among Asian law students; and
3. to encourage the enhancement of the capabilities of Asian Law students to become internationally minded, socially responsible, academically committed and legally skilled.

History

The Asian Law Students' Association（ALSA・和名：アジア法学生協会）はアジア11カ国・地域の法学生によって構成される学生団体です。 2002年に東京で行われたThe Asian Law Students' Forum（AF）にて、 ALSA Japanを含めアジア各国・地域に存在していた法学生の組織や団体、 東南アジア各国の法学生団体によって構成されていたASEAN Law Students' Associationが合併し、 The Asian Law Students' Associationとして活動していくことに合意がなされました。

その後2003年8月韓国で行われたAFでの議論を通して、2003年10月タイで行われたThe ASEAN Law Students' Conferenceにて正式に合併し、 加盟10カ国からなるアジア最大規模の法学生団体が誕生しました。 2004年8月に東京で行われたAFでは会則が定められ、その会則を基にInternational Board（IB）が選出され、 初代IB代表Jon（韓国）を中心に活動がスタートしました。

その後2009年8月にバングラデシュが加盟し、現在のALSAはインドネシア・韓国・シンガポール・タイ・台湾・中国・日本・バングラデシュ・フィリピン・香港・マレーシアの 11カ国の"National Chapter"と呼ばれる加盟国・地域によって構成されており、約10000人以上の会員を擁しています。 さらに、各National ChapterはLocal Chapterと呼ばれる加盟大学によって構成されます。 詳しくはこちらのページをご覧下さい。
