Outline

Today, we Japan and Korea are facing a serious and common problem, aging society.

Enormous alimony of elders, for example, payment of pension, social security and medical service are increasing rapidly, and the burden, which we have to take the responsibility to, is affecting up to our society or our growth.

But now, efficient welfare is not done by enough high expenses. So we should consider improvements and reconsider the right to elders.

Well, we have almost same level bases of service to aging problem, but some feature at law, pension and medical service system, welfare facilities and way of barrier-free is different. These differences help our diversified discussion.

So then, we discuss here about….

>>>First, we are to recognize our common and difference approach, and better or worse, against aging problem. On that recognition, we argue what state of society and the low is desirable for the problem, and then, get general ideal for improving the problem.

>>>Second, we discuss more concretely by focusing upon the retirement age; the work right to elders. As the more average life expectancy of both country increase, the more elders are able to work without inconvenience. But the institution of retirement age uniformly makes elders unemployed regardless their ability or will. So we call this system in question, for or against, and aim to find the best (or better) measure as pondering by a standpoint of elders and company, considering their rights, profit and deficit, and custom.

I hope you to share consciousness about this common aging problem, to argue ways to approach to this problem through the law, not to end just ideal, and to be pioneers in Asia about this problem or other social problem.

Greeting

Our problem is not just a legal matter. To make our society better, the change of current circumstances and our thoughts are required. Even if there is a legal pension system, the number of people who will not pay their insurance fees will increase, causing the system into collapse.

Thus we must foster a keen awareness of this problem and to consider what is good or bad, what we should do or society should do, with associates of ALSA members.

The most important thing is to convey your opinion to your table members, so I hope all of you will discuss aggressively even in broken English or mixing your own language. Try to relax and have fun!! Please expand your ideas comparing the situations of other country and step up your ability.

I am looking forward to having a fruitful discussion with all of you!!
